The City of Crossville has many assets, including our charming small town identity, our status as the county seat, the new Library, the vialble businesses and institutions located within and immediately adjacent to the downtown project areas. In addition, Cumberland County which includes the greater Crossville area, is one of the most desirable, fastest growing counties in the state of Tennessee, and is marketed by the state as part of it's Retire Tennessee Program. |

| Crossville and Cumberland County are known as the “Golf Capital of
Tennessee”. Golf is a multi-million dollar industry in Cumberland
County, and with communities such as Fairfield Glade and Lake Tansi,
with additional populations which exceed 7,000 and help support this
industry. Cumberland Mountain State Park attracts recreational visitors
to the region. In addition, Centennial Park, with the regions only skate
park, is able to host softball, horseshoe, tennis,
volleyball and soccer tournaments, catering to the growing sports

Now the City of Crossville
has the opportunity to capitalize on these assets to attract residents and
visitors to it’s downtown. However, the visual image of the downtown street
corridors is not of a quality that attracts people, and does not reflect
the character and quality of life that is found in Crossville. A
comprehensive program of well designed street corridor improvements will create
a more attractive community image, and support an environment that is
conductive to the economic development. The illustrations following the
positive visual image and character that can be created through a
comprehensive program of street scape improvements including sidewalks,
curbs, ramps,crosswalks, streetlights,public places, landscaping, furnishings,
utility modifications,and putting overhead electric lines in-ground. Street
scape improvements will help establish a stronger community image,
attract new businesses investment, support property values and re-create an environment
that is conductive to overall economic development and quality of life. through
the implementations of street scape improvements, Crossville’s image and
economic vitality will be greatly enhanced.
